This course is designed to prepare students to take their Backflow Tester Certification exams. This course is based on the U.S.C. 10th Edition Manual of Cross-Connection Control and includes a combination of classroom lecture and hands-on training in our Wet Lab. Covered topics will include:
Introduction to Backflow Prevention
Hydraulics
Backflow Prevention Terms and Definitions
Types of Backflow Prevention Assemblies
Cross-Connection Control Program Administration
Installation Requirements for Backflow Prevention Assemblies
Field Test Procedures for Backflow Prevention Assemblies
Maintenance of Backflow Prevention Assemblies
Record Keeping Requirements
Safety
TSBA is privileged to host the Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers Certification exams provided by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) upon successful completion of the course. The hands-on portion of the AWWA backflow tester certification exams are hosted at our facility following the end of each course.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available for students who have met all course requirements with at least a 70% average.
